The 2026 MCAS results were updated today, and Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School is ranked #1 in Massachusetts in both ELA and Mathematics and #5 in Science!
These results are a tremendous reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students, teachers, staff, and families.
📚 ELA — #1 in Massachusetts
- 81% of students are Meeting or Exceeding Expectations
- 32% are Exceeding Expectations
- Only 1% are Not Meeting Expectations
➗ Mathematics — #1 in Massachusetts
- 87% of students are Meeting or Exceeding Expectations
- 35% are Exceeding Expectations
- 0% are Not Meeting Expectations
🔬 Science — #5 in Massachusetts
- 80% of students are Meeting or Exceeding Expectations
- 20% are Exceeding Expectations
- Only 2% are Not Meeting Expectations
#1 in ELA. #1 in Mathematics. Top 5 in Science.
These numbers represent so much more than test scores. They represent what happens every day at Banneker: high expectations, strong teaching, targeted support, collaboration, meaningful use of data, and a deep belief in what our children are capable of achieving.
And our students accomplished this while our Banneker community navigated an extraordinary amount of change. Through moves, uncertainty, changing plans, and challenges that required tremendous flexibility, our students and staff continued to put learning and our children first.
That is something worth celebrating.
Today, when Banneker had the opportunity to share with BESE some of the strategies behind these results, we were incredibly proud to highlight the work happening in our classrooms — teachers who know their students, targeted interventions, purposeful use of data and technology, strong instruction, and a school community that refuses to lower expectations for our children.
This achievement belongs to our students. It belongs to our teachers and staff. And it belongs to our Banneker families who continue to partner with us every step of the way.
