Social Studies at Banneker

Social Studies logo.jpg

The Banneker employs an integrated environment of social studies to help promote civic competence to our community. Within our school program social studies provides coordinated, systematic study drawing upon economics, geography, history, law, religion, and sociology, as well as appropriate content from mathematics, language arts and science.

The primary purpose of social studies is to help young students make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.
