Dear Banneker Family,

As the Interim Executive Director, I am thrilled to lead this learning community during a time of incredible change and tremendous possibilities. It has been my sincere pleasure to be a member of this great school community. I am truly honored to be appointed to this position and am looking forward to working with our dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for the students.

Banneker enjoys a rich history!  Nearly two decades dedicated to student achievement, pioneering new technology, and building relationships with higher education institutions.  We need to continue towards academic and cultural excellence by building collegial partnership between the school staff and parents to provide a diversity of experiences for our students. Through a close and mutually respectful partnership with everyone associated with the Banneker I am confident we can make our school an even better place for our students to learn and grow.

Our challenge is to embrace the 21st century and assure that our students have the solid foundation necessary to compete in the forever changing landscape.  We need to prepare our students to become leaders in this exciting new world. In order to accomplish this monumental task we must provide the following.

A high level of personalization in every aspect of a student's experience,

A proud recognition for individual and group accomplishments as well as for diligence and hard work,

An unwavering commitment to the development of character and civic responsibility in our students.

My primary role is to provide the leadership that will facilitate a school environment focused on differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each student. The educational program must be academically challenging, engage each student by linking the curriculum to previous knowledge and experience, and also be exciting to promote further exploration of new ideas.
